Crunchy crumble mix making 6 portions - source unknown (one of Richard's nephew's childrens' cookbooks!)


  • 150g (50z) plain flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 90g (3.5 oz) cold butter, cut into pieces
  • 75g (3 oz) soft brown sugar
  • 50g (2 oz) porridge oats


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6
  2. Mix together flour and salt and rub in the butter with your fingers to resemble breadcrumbs.
  3. Stir in the sugar and oats.
  4. Spoon the fruit into a fairly deep oven-proof dish and cover with the crumble mixture.
  5. Bake in the the oven for 30 minutes.
